Bag training will continue to be common. Muay, Thay, Kick Boxing, Boxing, Cardio, kickboxing, etc. These are activities in which the sack is a vital part.
The current offer makes choosing a training bag truly complicated. A fitness bag is not the same as one for practicing our hooks or the other for training kicks.
What then are the criteria to choose our perfect bag?
First, we must know the fundamental differences between the bags. Weight, padding, bag construction material, use, chains and fixings, etc.
FACTOR 1: THE WEIGHT
Weight is directly related to impact resistance. The more weight the greater the resistance of the bag to the blow. FACTOR 3: MANUFACTURING MATERIALS
We can find three types of materials in the manufacture of punching bags: Natural skin, synthetic skin (PU, Duralike, etc.), Fabric (Canvas) and Plastic (PVC).
The first difference is obviously the price. Training bags made of natural leather or leather are more expensive but of higher quality and durability. They require more care such as drying the sweat after a nutritional workout with creams treated for skin care.
The canvas or fabric boxing bags are also of great resistance and also have the advantage of repairs, which are much simpler and cheaper. On the contrary, they are very uncomfortable if you train without gloves.
PU or synthetic leather training bags are a very good option since you will enjoy the sensation of the skin (or very similar) without requiring genuine skin care. It is also true that the durability or life of the bag will not be the same.
Finally, plastic punching bags are the cheapest of all.
FACTOR 4: USE
It is not the same if you train Boxing than if you prefer Muay Thai or another contact sport or martial art. If you are looking for realism, the ideal is a Dummy. Dummies can have a human form or simply simulate a person’s torso. They are ideal for practicing kicks. If instead you want to train your speed with your fists, what you need is a punch.
